The Zia Warrior's base is carved natural juniper, with a square "face" that suggests the Zia sun symbol. The square is composed of walnut, mahogany, and tiger maple. The oval pendant, suspended from a silver wire, is made of cocobolo heart and cocobolo sapwood. It ends in a local New Mexico stone hung from the oval with aged copper wire. The conical stone on the left side was discovered in a Utah volcanic ash flow.
This piece implies action and strength, and will stand alone as a multi-faceted reminder of the distinctive attributes of the desert southwest.
